MGM Grand Detroit is hiring staff for its new casino complex
MGM Grand Detroit has informed that more than 26,000 people have applied online for the 1,000 jobs the company is offering to fill the positions at $765 million hotel and casino complex, expected to open by the end of this year. Applicants registered in the three weeks since MGM Grand announced it was hiring personnel.
The jobs available include positions in administration, environmental services, finance, food and beverage, hotel operations, human resources, marketing, security, table games, valet and wardrobe. The company has 25 computers at its staffing center available for those who do not have access to a computer to send their applications.
“Look at all these people,” MGM Director of Staffing Kara Holsing said. “I'm very proud to be part of a company that is providing job opportunities in Detroit. With all these applications, we have our work cut out for us, but it's a great thing.”
Holsing also explained that people should not be discouraged by the number of applicants since the number one thing the casino is looking for is the best candidates that demonstrate excellent guest services.
