One Shelby County leader feels like rolling the dice and taking a gamble on the Tomb of Doom.
County Commissioner John Willingham says a giant casino at the Pyramid could generate 130-million dollars per year.
This morning, he's calling on your help to convince other Mid-South politicians.
Petitions have been printed and he hopes to collect 200-thousand signatures.
"It's the people's opportunity to say this is what we want--elected officials, get off your butts, and go do something positive" said Shelby County Commissioner John Willingham.
While Willingham is sold on the plan to the Pyramid into a casino others are not.
So far, both Mayor A.C. Wharton and Mayor Willie Herenton have refused to sign-off on the plan.
Even Governor Phil Bredesen says that gambling should not be expanded beyond the lottery for up to ten years.
