The campaign is supported by gambling-industry groups
An official report estimates that there are more than 25,000 addicted gamblers in Kentucky. For that reason, an association of gambling-industry groups has launched a campaign to help compulsive gamblers and prevent more players from becoming addicts.
The slogan for the campaign is “Responsible gaming, responsible families” and the association is going to distribute posters, pens and other promotional materials this week. On the other hand, the Kentucky Lottery Corporation is going to give away 40,000 “scratchers”, plastic picks used to scratch off tickets, with the words “Play responsibly” on them.
Other sponsors of the project are: the state’s horse-racing tracks, Indiana’s Ohio River Casinos and Kentucky’s Office of Charitable Gaming.
